Stick Vape Roundup – Fingerheld Dry Herb Vaporizers

Stick Vapes are a class of dry herb vaporizer easily identifiable by their long, slender, stick-like shape. These vaporizers look and feel familiar because many traditional smoking methods are also stick-shaped – like joints and blunts.

Stick Vapes like the Dynavap, Tempest, and Stunner all lined up

History of Stick Vapes

We can’t pinpoint the exact start of this classification, as the format predates us. Even a traditional joint is considered a vaporizer, and it’s stick-shaped!

Our history begins with the Dynavap. This is our “original” stick vape, simply because it’s the first portable dry herb vaporizer of its type that actually works well. The Dynavap Vapcap vaporizer set the bar for analog portable dry herb vaporizers, and it was both the target and source of inspiration for an entire new classification.

Dynavap evolved its vaporizer into an “engine” and “stem” system that fostered a community of 3rd-party accessory makers. Advanced new cooling stems for the Dynavap sparked competition and increased awareness of the growing platform of high-performance, low-cost vaporizers.

Years later, the most successful Dynavap stem makers now have their own line of stick vapes!

Dynavap Vaporizers

Dynavap still sets the standard for the micro vaporizer format. Dynavap has a complete line of dry herb vapes covering beginners with budgets to connoisseurs with high demands.

Vestratto Anvil & Tornado

The Vestratto Anvil was one of the earliest spin-offs. The aptly named Anvil is a heavy-hitting vaporizer with a different approach to heating and extraction.

Vestratto Anvil is a heavy hitting stick vape

The Anvil applies heavy conduction with the perfect mix of convection to produce super stoney effects. The Tornado takes the approach one step further, heating the vapor path and serving as a secondary atomizer. What’s lost in flavor is gained in sedation and stoney effects.

Madheaters Tempest 2

The Tempest 2 is one of the latest and greatest vapes on this page. We’ve been testing it for a few weeks now, and it’s climbing the ranks of our favorites.

Madheaters Tempest ball vape is a portable stick vape with massive power and flavor

Tempest 2 is a ball vape designed for use with an induction heater. It can be heated with a torch, too, but it really shines with induction heating.

MGVS Stunner

The Stunner is another heavy hitter. This vaporizer utilizes balls in its heater to achieve unrivaled convection power.

The Stunner hits harder and heats up faster than the others on this page, but using it is a bit more intuitive and primal. While other stick vapes have a clicking mechanism or a visual indicator to aid heating, the Stunner has none.

Stunner by MGVS on a resin stem

Skilled Stunner users rely on the color of the torch flame as a signal that their vape is hot enough to use. When the flame turns from blue to orange, it’s ready to hit.

The Stunner is less refined than the other stick vapes, but it’s more affordable and easy to customize, too.

MGVS sells the stunner with or without the stem.

Simrell “Relli” Vaporizer

Austyn Simrell of the Simrell Collection is a maker of high-performance, high-class Dynavap stems and accessories. His new vaporizer delivers the familiar Dynavap user experience with more impactful, flavorful vapor.

The Simrell Vaporizer offers variations in vapor with minimal adjustments of the heating technique. Aim high for a mostly convection vapor experience, or aim low to add more radiant conduction heat.

This vape works great with a torch or an induction heater.

BFG Dani

Battery-Free Ganz makes the Dani and its variants. These stick vapes are similar to the Anvil. They’re strong in the conduction/radiant heat and produce an extra stoney high.

The BFG Dani and Dani Fusion are popular and well-respected. The newest BFG Punch is on our list of new stick vapes to test in 2026.

Camouflet Convector

Camouflet is one of the newest stick vape makers in the space. The Camouflet Convector and Convector XL use a different approach to heating and vaporization.

The Convector, as its name suggests, relies more on convection and less on conduction.

The magic resides in the special cap. It’s heated with a butane torch or induction heater. Camouflet even makes a special desktop induction heater, the Camouflet Inductor.

PhatPiggie’s Thermal Accumulator

PhatPiggie is a legendary creator and thought leader in the dry herb vape space. He’s been pushing the creative and performance boundaries of the Dynavap vaporizer since the beginning.

His Thermal Accumulator was one of the first portable ball vapes. This vape used an ultra-simple design, inspiring other stick vape makers to simplify.

Phatpiggie later collaborated with Madheaters and helped create the Tempest. Fast forward to 2026, and the Tempest 2 is one of the best stick vapes out there!

What’s the Best Stick Vape?

This classification of vaporizers is highly subjective and controversial. We’re not looking for fanboism, but we were hoping you could tell us which finger-held vape is your favorite, and why.

This list will evolve; it’s OK if your opinions change, too.

  1. This is one of the nicest Stick Vape review I’ve read.

In our house the Thermal Accumulator TA3 is among the finest. A slightly different delivery over the Tempest2 but the effect is as enticing.

I often use the Dani2 along side the Simrell pairing nicely throughout a day using a medium torch.

The Vestratto vapes are excellent rippers and the effect is appreciated but do not use’m much cuz of my fat finger loading, & the Tornado is a weekend(r). However, for lights out I definitely use the both of’m.

The Convector didn’t make the grade. No one used it correctly and got tired of cleaning them.

In further comparison to others, the MGVS has not worked out. Small companies should not send out wrong parts.

  2. Just got my tornado in which is my first of this type coming from ball vapes and solo 3. Still waiting for Yll 3.0 induction heater but having fun experimenting with torch.

  3. I guess I’m too impatient for torch vapes, because I always end up combusting. The only one I’ve tried on this list is the Dynavap M3, and I wasn’t too impressed.
