First Look at the Fuji by Camouflet
The Camouflet Fuji is one of the more interesting new dry herb vapes to hit our radar. It’s a portable dry herb vaporizer from Camouflet, the same crew behind the Convector and Inductor.
Fuji is built in a wooden body with a design focused on powerful convection vapor with an instant heatup.
We’ll be unboxing the Fuji live on Troy and Jerry, checking out the hardware, figuring out how everything works, and getting our first bowls through it. This is very much a first look rather than a full review — we want some real time with the Fuji before passing judgment.
This post will eventually become our full Camouflet Fuji review as we spend more time testing it. For now, come hang out for the unboxing and see what we think of it fresh out of the box.

Notes and Observations:
Fuji’s one-button user friendly interface makes it simple and a joy to use:
- Press and hold the button while inhaling to extract the material.
- Press the button twice in succession to change and cycle through the 5 preset temperatures; the 5 preset temperatures are approximately 160C, 180C, 200C, 220C, 240C.
- Press the button three times in succession to see the battery level.
Fuji uses a basket system for ease of use and breezy maintenance.
Powered by dual 18650s offering large battery capacity and run time. Batteries are replaceable, allowing users to replace their batteries when the time comes, batteries are not meant to be swapped frequently.
Fuji can be used while charging.
One of the main goals of Fuji was to make it as user friendly as possible to get more people to convert from combustion. Also, make a portable device so versatile it can replace all desktops.
It’s got a good amount of juice. I haven’t been counting baskets, but I usually do 3, maybe 4 draws per basket and charge it every 4 days or so. I’m super happy with the capacity.
Averages 20+ baskets per charge, depending on usage and settings etc.
My preferred temp setting is level 3 first 2-3 draws, finish on 4 or 5. The lower levels are great too but take a bit longer for thick Vapor production. Higher levels pump Vapor but flavour dissipates faster.
The first draw takes a bit to heat everything up and reach temp equilibrium in the chamber before extraction starts, common in all pure convection devices. After a couple of sessions you can get a feel for it and speed up Vapor production. Inhalation rate and direct to lung do the trick. It’s not an ideal vape for puffing/mouth to lung or whatever the term is. If that makes sense.
Twaxing is amazing with Fuji. I’ve been testing some different accessory options for concentrates, the usual hemp cotton fibre and stainless mesh pad works a charm. Level 5 is best for concentrates.
Basket capacity is on the bigger side. Don’t need to fill it either, just need to fill the inner diameter surface area and works great with smaller amounts.
Haven’t measured, but prob between 0.2 – 0.3.
Don’t pack or tamp the baskets, fill baskets loosely so hot convection air can extract properly.
Basically never have to clean it, which is a huge plus/feature.
You can blow out any crumbs from the chamber if they go through the basket. Wipe down the inside of the glass top joint with a qtip when hot, do it before any actual buildup happens and you don’t ever have to use iso on the heater unit.
Soak the baskets and lids, and glass parts in iso and rinse with hot water. I’ve just been rinsing the glass tops with hot water and works great too since they’re small enough. I just run hot water through them and loosen everything up. Then fill it with hot water, close off the openings with fingers and shake it. Rinse, repeat. Cleans up fast.
So some maintenance of course, but minimal in comparison to what people are use to.
And always best to fully charge the batteries before first use. Your units will be fully charged and ready to go out of the box for the livestream.
Also back to back bowls keeps the inner glass wall hot = faster extraction.
