A new take on concentrate delivery

nice dreamz front 2

The Nice Dreamz Fogger had me intrigued from first sight. I’ve had forced air concentrate vapor hits before, but it was always from a dry herb vape converted to concentrates with a mesh pad, and it turned into a session instead of one monster hit. But the fogger boils up a traditional dap, and then serves it up with a fan.

So how’s it hit? Kind of in-between the two methods. It’s not like a smack-in-the-face one-and-done dab, but it packs more punch for me than converted dry herb vapes. It definitely stands unique in the vape space, and like other recent vape releases (like the S&B Venty), takes the work out of getting high. It’s a session dab, but at the end of the session I’m usually wrecked, and I didn’t have to undergo a lung workout to get it. I’ve chased easier, more comfortable hits a lot in the last several years, and this one needs a close look!

Out of the box, the hits off my Nice Dreamz were unsatisfying. I usually read manuals, but for some reason I skipped it this time…jeroops. Turns out you need to fiddle with the TCR settings and temperatures to dial this thing in for your style of hit. If you’re good at that, or have the patience to be, you can get this thing rolling. For me, it’s unique enough to be worth it.

First impressions

Like I said, it wasn’t humming out of the box. The instructions are adequate, if you take the time to read them. I was lucky enough to have the maker walk me through it. My sessions are much better now, and I feel they can still get better. Here are some random notes and thoughts:

  • If you’re not an enthusiast that likes to tinker, or someone who routinely delivers hits for people, pump your brakes. The hits are different from a traditional commercial e-rig, so adjust your expectations.
  • I really like how modular the parts are. If something brakes or wears out, it’s fairly easy and affordable to fix.
  • Enthusiasts will dial in their perfect sessions and swear by it. The hits are airy by nature of the glass dome and touchless hit, but settings and styles have an impact on this.
  • Aim the faucet inside the bowl, to one side, to get the oils spinning around. Don’t aim it at the center, like I did at first.
  • Wipe down the glass and cup after every session while the oils are warm. You’ll always have a good view!
  • Don’t use the fan on low. Turn that thing up somewhere in the middle for thicker hits.
  • Troy and I think the size of the dab makes a big impact here, and I will confirm it near the end of the stream tonight!
  • You can easily deliver dab hits around the circle with this thing, turning the fan off between hits.
  • You can blow dab bags!

Here’s some eye candy while you wait for the stream to start Friday night!

nice dreamz case

The Nice Dreamz Fogger comes in a travel case.

nice dreamz in the case

Case opened. Fogger on the right, accessories on the left.

nice dreamz with whip

In the first two pics of this blog, the fogger is shown with the glass mouthpiece (2-pieces) installed. Here, those pieces are to the left and the whip is installed.

nice dreamz with bag

Why not blow bags? I removed the S&B mouthpiece and rammed their bag onto the fogger’s 14mm glass connection. It leaked a little, and I have a better solution…

nice dreamz with potv adapter and bag

…enter the POTV Volcano Glass Adapter and water pipe adapter, paired with a 14F/14F glass adapter!

nice dreamz batteries

The Nice Dreamz is powered by two removable 18650 batteries! Fuck power issues.

nice dreamz front

The front lays out a power button on top with a display in the middle, and “up” and “down” buttons below. The batteries are charging externally, so I didn’t get this shot with the display on…sorry.

nice dreamz deck

Remove the glass top to load. The deck holds a state-of-the-art, replaceable atomizer and an air outlet that looks like a faucet. We’ll come back to these later.

nice dreamz knob

The knob on the right controls the fan speed. You can also press it in to toggle the fan on and off. That’s a USB-C charge port below.

nice dreamz fan installed

That’s right, this thing has a fan to power all the fun!

nice dreamz fan

Pull it out and it looks like this.

nice dreamz without fan

The well for the fan holds nothing else. The electrical connections can be seen on the bottom.

nice dreamz air inlet from fan

And that’s where the air goes to reach the faucet above. The construction is simple and easy/cheap to fix for a long time.

nice dreamz atomizer

The atomizer…a glazed ceramic cup with side heater. The whole thing unscrews so you can clean it with a special tool and a box mod.

nice dreamz atomizer screw

The atomizer is also rebuildable. On the lower right is one of two hex screws that you can loosen to change out the ceramic heater/cup.

nice dreamz atomizer and faucet

Atomizer removed on the left, faucet on the right.

nice dreamz naked deck

Here’s the deck with atomizer and faucet removed. That’s a standard 510 threaded connection on top.

nice dreamz air outlet

And the air inlet on the bottom.

nice dreamz included parts

These were in the travel case with the whip and glass mouthpieces. Hex screw and extra screws on the left. Top right is a standard replacement cup, with the XL cup on the bottom right.
