Firewood vaporizers have been a pleasant anomaly in the world of weed vapes for around ten years now. While most companies went with cheap conduction tech for their portable vapes, others made on-demand vapes that were usually over-engineered, expensive, and big with questionable performance. All the while, Firewood was off to the side, making what enthusiasts have always wanted – small, attractive, portable vapes with on-demand convection heat that actually work via simple tech and a single user-replaceable battery.

We’re now on the 11th version (Firewood 11), and the refinements are remarkable. What literally started as a 2 x 4 with a vape in it is now a hand-crafted marvel. The Firewood 11 is small and gorgeous with only one button, and doesn’t skimp on performance or control. You can change check the battery level, change or customize the selected temperature, and fire up the vape all with one button and vibration feedback. I splurged for the extra water pipe adapter and have not been disappointed – this thing works well on a bubbler!

The Firewood’s on-demand convection heat delivers great taste and efficiency from my precious herbs. The hits are quick and, like the Tafee Bowle, if you want a session, you simply chain on-demand hits until the bowl is done. So far, it’s been easy to load, but I haven’t had to clean it yet. My only complaint is that my sessions really benefit from a stir after a few hits. I was surprised at how thick the vapor was after a stir…it really needs it!
